You Are #rpTEN And #rpTEN Is You!

Prior to the launch of re:publica's 10th anniversary, we would like to repeat our statement from previous years: our event, with all its different and colourful off-shoots, aims to reflect the diversity of an open society. #rpTEN is a peaceful event and an occasion for celebration. For us it goes without saying that no-one should be discriminated against on the basis of their age, gender, appearance, sexual orientation, physical or mental abilities, skin colour, origin or religion.

Support us and be active in ensuring that re:publica fully reflects this openness in all its variants. Treat others with respect and help create a good atmosphere for open conversation. This includes your comments and posts on blogs, websites, the Twittersphere and other social networks and of course at #rpTEN. We subscribe to a reflective, moderate demeanour and interaction with others and hope to be treated the same by you. Please act responsibly on all platforms and practice de-escalation before conflicts arise. Whether online or offline, we do not tolerate any form of hate, defamation, intimidation, threats, patronising comments or behaviour and will respond to any incidents accordingly.

Furthermore, during the re:publica event we will not tolerate verbal hostility, stalking, physical altercations of any kind or people who act out negatively and disrupt sessions and/or stage events. Aggressive photography and recording of participants without their permission is forbidden. Contribute in making our 10th anniversary at STATION-Berlin a great and memorable event. Help to make everyone feel safe and do not hesitate to approach us or others if you need help or support. Troublemakers will be reprimanded and we reserve the right to exclude them from events and, in extreme cases, the re:publica grounds. If someone feels unduly accused or unfairly treated, they should turn to us and we will try to mediate the matter with all involved parties.

As always, accessibility and inclusion very important to us. The stages are wheelchair accessible and we offer tickets at reduced price. re:publica is an international event, featuring speakers from 60 countries. It is important to us that all participants feel welcomed and can make their way around the event. More than half of re:publica's sessions will take place in English and all talks on Stage 1 will be accompanied by speech-to-text translation in German or English. Following re:publica, all talks will be archived on our YouTube channel and several will feature added English subtitles.

We do not want re:publica's admission prices to be a barrier to taking part. Those with less financial means have the option to take part as helpers at re:publica. Helpers work one full day during the event, receive full catering during their shift as well as admittance to all three re:publica days (more here)
