René Bohne

René Bohne is a computer scientist and Maker from Aachen. He was the manager of the FabLab at RWTH Aachen University, Germany's first fab lab. He is the project lead for the FabScan 3D Scanner, the VisiCut laser cutter software and many other open source projects. For the organic interactive illumination network called LumiNet, he created the "programming-by-infection" distributed bootloader for Wearables. René is author of the book "Making Things Wearable", the first book in German about DIY wearables, published by O'Reilly. His current research activities are in the field of Human-Computer-Interaction, 3D-Printing and DIY Wearable Electronics" Since 2016, he is the Startup Program Manager at the geeny IoT platform, powered by Telefónica NEXT.
